Allstar triumph at Southport

October 2003

Judging at the British Musical Firework Championships at Southport proved to be a very difficult job. Results were:

First place went to Allstar Fireworks, Middlesex for an astounding display, 'reaching the pinnacle of achievement of co-ordinating fireworks and music', as one of the judges said.

Spitfire Pyrotechnics Ltd from Coventry, who won last year, came second, and Walk the Plank Pyrotechnics, Salford, Gtr Manchester a respectable third.

There was honourable mention for the excellent displays by Millennium Pyrotechnics, of Salisbury, Wiltshire; Shellscape Pyrotechnics Ltd. of Chesham, Buckinghamshire, and Dragon Dynasty Pyrotechnics of Slip End, Bedfordshire

'The popularity of this competition and the kudos of winning the title gets bigger every year,' Sefton Council's Simon Armstrong told us.

A full account of the competition will be provided in issue 47 of Fireworks, which is due out in February 2005.
