BRITISH FIREWORK CHAMPIONSHIPS, PLYMOUTH

PLANNED TO BE BIGGER & BETTER!

August 2005

The 2005 British Firework Championships are to take place at Plymouth Hoe on Tuesday 16th and Wednesday 17th August and the organisers are indicating that with added attractions the previous record crowds of some 200,000 will be exceeded.

This prestigious event is now internationally famous, attracting visitors from both the UK and overseas and it provides a highly prized PR opportunity for the competitors - particularly the eventual Champion! It is an excellent platform for those involved to demonstrate the best in the art of British Pyrotechnics and provides a major endorsement for the company who is successful.

Entries for the 2005 event are now being called for by the organisers, The Event Services Association (TESA), and a Competitor Agreement Form, together with Competition Rules and Guidance Notes will be issued to all companies who qualify and wish to enter.

Entrants must submit their initial request as quickly as possible after November 30th 2004; the closing date for entries is 31st January 2005. The draw for successful entrants will be made during February announced at the TESA AGM on 24th February 2005.

The current Champion, Allan Hilary Pyrotechnics of Gateshead, will return to defend their title and last years' reserve The Midnight Storm Firework Company will automatically take part in the 2005 event. Other competitors from last year are not eligible to enter this year. Subsequently the draw will be for five new competitors, including the reserve and at least one will be a member of TESA. All competitors must be current members of the BPA, CBI Explosives Group or TESA and must have been trading for a minimum of 2 years or must be able to provide sufficient evidence of experience in support of their knowledge and experience.

Initial entry applications should be sent by email, fax or post to:
