NEW EUROPEAN FIREWORK CHAMPIONSHIPS?

September 2007

A new competition has been created for the Firework Industry and, if successful this year, will become the first official European championships.

If A sponsor can be found for next year the future competition will consist of the winners from Plymouth (British Firework Championships), Southport (British Musical Firework Championships),San Sebastian and one other European competition.

The inaugural year sees Jubilee Fireworks, Millennium Fireworks and Westcoast Fireworks competing and a demonstration display by Antony Foti of Parente/Show FX.

These have been selected on merit from within the firework industry by the organisers.

The competition will be on the 28th and 29th of September on the Pembrokeshire Waterway in West Wales. Judges include Bill Davis, Jonathon Finch and Antony Foti.

The displays are 10 minutes in duration and a 500kg NEC limit has been set.The rules are similar to Plymouth to help both judges and competitors.
