Pendragon are British Firework Champions

Pendragon Fireworks, winners of the Welsh Firework Championships, have won the coveted title of British Firework Champions in Plymouth. Their all action display narrowly beat Star Fireworks' excellent display into second place. First night shows on 12 August from Dragon, Starburst The Firework Company and Star all impressed and, on the second night, 13th, Phoenix Fireworks (who finished third) and Fireworx Scotland pushed the Welsh company hard.

The weather cleared for the evening shows, which commenced at 9.30., although setting up was difficult for all competitors amidst heavy rain and 60mph winds.

2009 will see the introduction of a Northern Ireland Firework Championships which, like the competition from which Pendragon emerged victorious, will be counted as a heat for next year's Plymouth event.
