BSO Concerts - and they all have fireworks!

All the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra summer concerts have fireworks! The Orchestra is delighted to announce no less than nine spectacular summer outdoor firework concerts in a series that will take place across the south and south west in July and August.

Five Last Night of the Proms concerts, this year featuring top opera husband and wife team Claire Rutter and Stephen Gadd, will be performed at such lovely venues as Portchester Castle, Portsmouth; Osborne House, Isle of Wight; and Broadlands, Romsey – and this year the BSO brings this ever-popular programme to two new venues – Wilton House nr Salisbury and Meyrick Park in Bournemouth.

These traditional concerts are complemented by four programmes of popular music designed to make a perfect summer’s evening listening, with the welcome return of Voulez–Vous Symphonic ABBA concert to Meyrick Park; and Symphonic Queen performed for the first time at Broadlands, Romsey.  There is also a unique opportunity to hear the popular West End smash hit Les Miserables in Concert, performed by the full BSO and the current London cast, at Osborne House, Isle of Wight.  And Upton Park in Poole will have some of the best classical music ever in a specially designed ‘Proms in the Park’ programme that includes Tchaikovsky’s 1812 Overture with replicas of the original French and Russian cannons!

Every concert ends with a 'fantastic' firework display that can be seen for miles!  So bring a picnic, some wine and some friends, lay back and enjoy the music.  It is the essential summer experience!
