It is with very great sadness that we have to announce the liquidation of Britain’s largest firework manufacturer, Kimbolton Fireworks.
Kimbolton, who created the displays for the opening and closing London 2012 Olympics and Paralympic Games, has ceased trading after 55 years.
Kimbolton Fireworks was founded by Reverend Ron Lancaster MBE in 1964 in a small workshop at Kimbolton School where he was a master..
Kimbolton, a family run business, fired displays for Hong Kong, St Patrick’s Day, in Dublin, and the Mayor of London’s New Year’s Eve display at the London Eye.
All inquiries are being dealt with by insolvency practitioner Begbies Traynor.
Kimbolton’s headquarters were in Kimbolton near Huntingdon, and it had a factory in nearby Stonely.
Further information will appear in issue 76 of Fireworks.
